In the past Punjab Mandi Board had provided Weigh Bridges in most of the important mandis in order to ensure proper weighment of the produce brought by the farmers. In order to increase operational efficiency of these Weigh Bridges most of these have now been given on lease to private parties.Now the scheme for installing electronic weigh bridges in markets by giving land on long lease basis to private parties has been initiated.
